Book Review I Was So Mad by Mercer Mayer

Mercer Mayer is my favorite children’s book series writer. If you’ve ever had a toddler, you can relate to the book “I Was So Mad (Little Critter) (Look-Look)
No matter what Little Critter wanted to do, his parents and grandparents would not let him do it. When they suggested things he could do, he didn’t want to so he was SO MAD!

Isn’t that always the way. My Grandson is 3 and if he gets “so mad” he slumps his shoulders and scowls. It’s pretty funny to me, not so much to him. We have many, many Mercer Mayer books from my kids’ childhood and they are still our favorites. If you’ve never read the Mercer Mayer Little Critter series, make sure you do. There are topics for every occasion from this one, featuring anger management issues, to going to the dentist.

Spring has sprung!

abby and peanut on the deck

Warm weather has finally come to the Midwest.  It’s been a long winter for all of us…even these two!  I’ve been retired for three months and had my first cup of coffee (since retiring) on the deck this past weekend.  I am truly blessed to be able to stay home and spend all day with my doxies and more time with my grandkids.

The next book in my Doxie Tale Adventure series “Howloween Fun” is scheduled to be out this summer.  Be sure to check back as I will be posting updates as the publishing date nears.

I have many books in the works for the series.  Each will feature the shenanigans of Whiskers and Wags (and their little sis Sniffy) and will introduce different characters based on a lifetime of sharing my life with dogs.

When I fell in love with children’s books and developed my collection, it was the series that interested me the most.  I enjoyed following the same characters on different adventures so that’s what I want to bring to my reader.

Looooooooooooook into my eyes.  You’re getting sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy.

Oh wait, I’m the one that’s getting sleepy.  G’night.

March 27, 2014 B.A…before Abby

Hey ho…it’s me Peanut.  TBT (throwback Thursday) pic.  This was our doggy family before Abby came along and I wasn’t the baby anymore.  I’m still having issues over that but that’s a story for another day.  It’s not a very good pic but the blonde dog is my sister Squirt and the German Shepherd is Kramer.  Squirt passed away 3 years ago and Kramer 2 years ago.  We all got along great and luckily for me, Kramer always had way too much skin under his neck.  I would grab hold (standing on my tippy toes) and shake it like a rag doll.  He was a pretty good sport about it but when he’d had enough, he would gently place his ginormous paw on my back.  Then I would let go.  It was pretty funny (well, to me anyway).  Oh how I miss those good old days……

March 27, 2014 Abby’s big bro

Since it’s TBT (throwback Thursday) among my facebook friends, I thought I’d share a baby pic of myself from 11 years ago.  That’s me hanging out with my big brother and protector Kramer.  Look how tiny I was!  Sadly, Kramer lost his battle with many health issues 2 years ago…but what a great big bro he was.  He always made Peanut & I feel safe.  Miss you Kramer!!

Hi Ho…Just wanted to let all my blog fans know that I had surgery today to remove a tumor.  I am pleased to announce the the outcome was great…nothing but a fatty tumor.  I am, however, worried about how my tail is going to wag as much as I would like since I have stitches back there!  I guess I’ll have to not look at my mom for a week to ten days 😉

Carry on!
